MSW Landfill

MSW Nonhazardous Solid Waste Site

Waste Industries, a GFL company, proudly manages numerous municipal solid waste (MSW) landfills throughout the United States. These MSW non-hazardous landfills accept garbage, refuse and similar solid waste material discarded from residential, commercial and industrial sources.

Banned items may include lead-acid batteries, yard waste, appliance, oil and hazardous/infectious waste. Materials are banned from MSW landfills to help preserve landfill airspace, to support the reuse/recycling of valuable resources and to better protect the environment.

All Waste Industries, a GFL company, MSW Landfills are designed and operated to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Although each state or province has different laws and regulations, there is considerable consistency between the states and provinces, with RCRA Subtitle D forming the basic criteria. Subtitle D regulations pertain to non-hazardous solid wastes and the term Subtitle D is often synonymous with MSW. Modern MSW landfills are often referred to as Subtitle D Landfills.
